Rug Hooked Chair Pad - Craving Colour!

With the changing of the seasons, florals and bright colours have recently been making their way into my work.  This hooked chair pad would surely spruce up any winter-weary room.   Hooked using wool on burlap, the piece measures 12" in diameter.  $65.

Upcycled side table

I finished this sweet little occasional table over the weekend.  It was painted in soft creamy vanilla, and topped with a piece of vintage "William Morris" wallpaper in complementary colours.   It measures 17" high; table top is 18" x 18".   $50.  Contact me at rdyer@nexicom.net

Upcycled "cubby"

Over the years, I've collected a variety of small furniture pieces that I had always intended to refinish, but then rug hooking took over!  This winter, I finally decided to dust off my work table and get started on refinishing some of the pieces that have been piling up in the garage.  I especially like this unusual little "cubby" - it's a perfect size for a small space.  It would be ideal in the bathroom to hold extra toilet paper rolls; in a bedroom for magazines .....how about your collection of record albums!?   

This piece has been painted in a soft creamy vanilla; and topped with a beautiful piece of vintage paper in a honeysuckle pattern (sealed for protection).

Upcycled vintage telephone table/chair

"Back in the day", the telephone had its own permanent spot in the house - either attached to the wall, or sitting atop a little telephone table.  This little set dates back to the '60s, and originally sported a dark stain & glossy varnish.  After stripping it down, I still wanted to keep the vintage look - so I painted it a warm sage green and topped it off with a beautiful piece of William Morris design wallpaper.  The piece has been varnished for protection.  The table is 29 1/2" high; the top measures approx. 18" x 14".  Cost: $120.00.  If you live in the Peterborough/Lakefield/Apsley area, I'd be pleased to arrange delivery....  Contact me at rdyer@nexicom.net      SOLD

Upcycled vintage quilt cards

I couldn't resist saving the most viable parts of a couple of very old and tattered quilts by using the scraps to make some sweet little cards - perfect for Easter or any occasion.    Each card, with envelope, is $4.  (Nine cards are available - now, or at the upcoming Peterborough Fibre Arts Festival on March 21.)

Rug Hooked Chair Pad

The central tulip design on this hooked chair pad was inspired by a pattern by Joan Moshimer (an iconic rug hooker who made her profound mark back in the 1960s/'70s). The pattern was in a box of woolen treasures  that I was recently gifted. Moshimer's original pattern had much more detail, and was intended to be hooked in a very thin cut wool for a formal look.   I simplified the pattern, and hooked the piece according to my more primitive style. The chair pad is wool hooked on burlap, and measures 12" in diameter.  Price: $65.00 (plus postage if applicable).

 Some time ago, I was gifted an infusion of colourful wool fabrics - many of which were used in this vibrant hooked rug.  It's my largest piece to date, measuring 46" x 24" - which would work beautifully in front of a couch, in a hallway, next to a bed ........

Boho-inspired fabric wrap bracelets

Made entirely with recycled materials, these colourful boho-inspired bracelets are wrapped with fabrics and yarns, and embellished with buttons, baubles and beads.  Great for summer - yes - but they could also add a bit of spice to a cold winter day!

Various sizes will soon be available, but most of these would fit over a small"ish" hand ....so, local folks, try before you buy..  $15 each.
