Recycled Sweater Tea Cozy
This oversized tea cozy was made from a felted recycled heavy wool sweater featuring a great nordic snowflake design! The cozy was stitched together with blanket stitch, and embellished with buttons from my stash!
Wool Coasters
These pretty wool coasters were made from the viable sections of a well-worn boiled wool sweater. The soft colours and lovely designs would look sweet in a feminine environment. Each coaster is double-layered and blanket-stitched in a complementary colour.

Wool Hot Pads - "Trapper Point" Collection!
Among my collection of thrift shop blankets was a pure wool Trapper Point blanket - full of holes and no longer viable for use as a blanket. I salvaged what I could of the beautiful blanket to make these classic-style hot pads. Each pad is double thickness, machine stitched and then edged with blanket stitch.

Wool Blanket Rug
I'm always trying to come up with new ideas for upcycling the stash of donated wool blankets that have been piling up in my supply room. Instead of making small items with all of them, I thought it would be fun to make a rug! This little cutie would be sweet in a nursery or little girl's bedroom, and feels soft and warm underfoot.
The rug is made with two layers of heavy wool blanket; pieces have been attached with blanket stitch; and embellished with machine stitched circles. It is a good weight, but I would recommend it be used with a non-slip underlay. Easy care - just wash in cold water, and hang to dry.

Crocheted Wool Rug
I used to make crocheted rag rugs using recycled cottons, bedsheets etc. So when my neighbor passed along a bag full of half-finished bulky sweaters, I thought I'd try making a similar rug using the heavy wool yarns. I think it worked beautifully, and am now on the look out for more heavy yarns!
