RED!!

Both of these vivid red rag rugs were made using the locker hook technique.  It's a technique very similar to traditional rug hooking, but the loops are literally locked into place by a thread that runs through every row of loops.  They are extremely hardy and heavy-weight rugs, easy to maintain, great for both low and high traffic areas. ( FYI: the second rug, in red and pops of lime, was photographed at the very fabulous East of Eden Antiques in Woodview, Ontario)

Safe delivery in Peterborough/Lakefield area; or curbside pickup at my Lakefield studio.  (I'm always happy to drop my pieces by for a "look-see" to ensure they work well in your space).

Time for a Giveaway!

I've been using this quiet time to do some stash busting of my oodles of yarns.  This is the first of what may end up being several colourful lapghans (a small afghan/throw) - and I thought it would be fun to have a giveaway.  If you're interested, just comment on the post and I'll add your name for a random draw to take place on Monday.  Since it will be a curbside drop-off or pick-up, I'm sorry I'll have restrict this to Peterborough/Lakefield area friends.

Negative space paintings

Two more paintings - recently completed.  Again, the paintings are created finding interesting shapes on a splattered canvas, and then painting out the background.  I especially love the colour combinations in these pieces.

Rag Rugs

Needless to say, I've had a little extra time on my hands lately.  In preparation for market season, and the day I can open my studio to the public again, I've continued "production" on several more rag rugs.  These are runners - in varying widths and lengths. Durable, washable, perfect for low- and high-traffic areas. If any strike your fancy, please feel free to contact me (rdyer@nexicom.net) or via Facebook for measurements and prices.  Still happy to do business on the front porch!
