Vibrant and cheerful, this electric blue floral mat would be especially lovely bed-side, as a statement piece in a hallway, or tucked in front of an old cabinet or dry sink.    I have such a wonderful collection of bright colours in my stash - it seems I used them all in this one piece!

Red Hot Hooked Rug

Stash busting!

After every rug hooking project, I toss all the leftover strands of cut wool into a big basket - and when the mound becomes unruly, I like to do some "stash busting".....These projects take a bit more time, but I enjoy the challenge of digging through the pile of cut wool to find just the right colour.  Truth be told, I don't think the stash will ever really disappear...

New Rug Hooked Offerings

Photographed at East of Eden Antiques in Woodview, Ont., these two new pieces will be heading to market tomorrow in Lakefield.  The rug is hooked in soft shades of taupe, muted blue and rich green wool on burlap. It measures 34" x 20";   $300

Hooked Floral Rug

Craving colour and warmth, I started this hooked rug during the cold dark days of March - and finished it just as our beautiful verdant spring arrived!  Wouldn't this piece be especially sweet in a pretty bedroom, a light-filled living room, or a wicker-filled sunroom!?

Rug Hooking

It's been a while since I've posted any new pieces..... now I have three to share!

The rug is wool hooked on burlap with dramatic colours and design against a mottled charcoal background. The piece measures 36" x 26";   $350.

The second piece is a hot pad with a coneflower design hooked in rich colours of burgundy, golds and greens.  Hooked with wool fabric on burlap, it measures 9" x 9 1/2";   $40

The floral chair pad brings promises of summer!  The design was done with wool fabric; the background with wool yarn - hooked onto burlap.  The piece measures 12" in diameter.  $65.

Upcycled side table

These little "half-moon" tables fit efficiently into so many small spots in the home - maybe in a sunroom beside a chair or sofa; bedside; or in a bathroom.  This piece was transformed from its original dark brown, glossy stain to a soft vanilla colour topped with (in this case) a pretty floral cotton fabric, and sealed for protection.

Upcycled side table

I finished this sweet little occasional table over the weekend.  It was painted in soft creamy vanilla, and topped with a piece of vintage "William Morris" wallpaper in complementary colours.   It measures 17" high; table top is 18" x 18".   $50.  Contact me at rdyer@nexicom.net
